What is a Managed Service Provider?

If you are not familiar with Networthy Systems you may not know the phrase MSP or the topic of Managed Services. A Managed Service Provider (MSP) is much more than just your typical IT guy who comes in and fixes your computer when it is broken. We work with you, as a team, to not only fix your computer issues but to make sure that they happen as infrequently as possible. Our goal is minimal downtime and maximum productivity for your business. To help you find out if you are working with a Managed Service Provider or an IT guy we have given you this list of things to look out for!

 1. You only talk to him when your computer isn't working
With an IT guy you typically call him when your computer isn't working and he comes and fixes it. With a managed service provider our goal is that your computer doesn't stop working. That being said we want to talk to you often, make sure all your programs are up to date, and scan for viruses and other problems before they cause issues.

2. He doesn't care whether or not your business is profitable
An IT guy doesn't typically care how business is going. The goal of an MSP is to help minimize your downtime and maximize your profit.

3. To him, it doesn't matter how much down time you have
No matter how much down time occurs he still gets paid. This is especially true with companies that get paid by the hour. The longer it takes to solve your problem the more they make.

4. He may not always be available when you need him
This is especially true with one man IT shops, they may not be available nights and weekends, holidays, or they may get sick or have an emergency that leaves you with a broken computer and lots of downtime. We are available 24/7/365, someone will always be available to help!
